Booking with 4 or more
If our dates don't suit or the week is already full and you want to book with 4 or more people, please contact us at info@aboutargyll.co.uk.
Accommodation
You will stay in carefully selected B&B's, guest houses or hotels. Double and twin rooms will have an en suite or private bathroom. In some places, if you are staying in a single room, you will share the bathroom with 1 or 2 other rooms.
Single rooms
A limited number of single rooms is available on all our holidays at a supplement. There will be no supplement if you are willing to share a twin room - with 2 single beds - with another member of the group of the same gender. This will always be a room with an en suite bathroom.
Please note that only few B&Bs have single rooms. This means that if you book closer to the start of the holiday, we might not be able to get a single room and need to charge extra for single occupancy of the double or twin room. We will always let you know in advance if this is the case.
Medical Conditions
Please let us know, in
confidence, of any conditions from which you suffer which may affect
your safety in remote areas. These include vertigo and diabetes. Please
consult your doctor if in any doubt.
What you need
You will need to bring boots with a good tread and adequate ankle support, warm clothing, waterproofs (top and over-trousers) and a rucksack big enough for your spare clothes, a packed lunch and whatever else you normally like to have with you (binoculars, a camera, etc.). Boots are especially important. They don't have to be particularly heavy, but wearing lightweight ones may mean your feet get wet. Hiking and walking shoes or trainers definitely aren't adequate nor, on some of the rougher and steeper going, however short it may be, are they safe.
Information before departure
You will receive information about meeting time/place, your accommodation, other members of the group and details of the holiday, 3-4 weeks before the start.
Insurance
We carry Public Liability insurance. In addition, we very strongly recommend that you take out your own travel insurance to cover personal accident, cancellation etc. You will need to get your insurance in the country you are living in and if you take out cancellation insurance, you should get it when you book your holiday.
Protecting your payments
About Argyll Walking Holidays provides protection for all your payments, in conformity with EC regulations, through a Trust Fund in which your payments are held until your holiday is completed. You will find more details about it in our booking conditions.
Smoking
By law smoking is not allowed in public places. This means that all B&Bs, hotels, retaurants and bars in Scotland are non-smoking. We also don't allow smoking in our minibuses.
Minimum number of participants
Four clients is the minimum number for our holidays to go ahead. In the event of us having to cancel through insufficient numbers, we will let you know at least 42 days before the start and we will offer you an alternative holiday. If the alternative does not suit you, we will refund in full all money paid.
The minimum number of participants for our self-guided holidays is two.
There is no minimum number for private guided itineraries.
Once you have read the booking conditions, please go to our online booking form or download a booking form and booking conditions.
